#JDWelshCup Taffs Well v Llanelli Town
Llanelli Town travel to Rhiw Dda’r this Friday evening as both teams look to secure a place in Round Three of the Welsh Cup.
Both teams were victorious last week in the Nathaniel Car Sales League Cup, both scoring four in their respective games as well which will only inspire confidence for the two teams.
Joey Evans and Arron Thomas look set to miss out for Taffs Well but the rest of the squad. Llanelli will look set to play a full-strength side.
A bumper crowd is expected with many Cardiff fans set to descend on Friday evening.
Both teams have impressive form going into the fixture and Well’s 3-0 hammering of Caerau Ely could be a sign of things to come. Well winger Michael Murphy claimed a hat-rick in that match. Well have performed better this season than they have in the last four-seasons, by reaching the Round Two Stage for the first time in five years.
Llanelli on the other hand won the Welsh Cup five years ago and with twelve goals scored in three games, the club will be high on confidence. A convincing 6-0 hammering away at Newport City was a highlight.

“The Welsh Cup is always extra special because of it’s history. It does bring a lot of excitement if you’re in the hat for the draw for the next round and hopefully we’ll be in it Monday.”
On the threat that Llanelli pose with free-scoring striker Lee Trundle.
“Lee Trundle is a great player and him playing for Llanelli Town is a huge boost for the Welsh League. Llanelli Town have a lot of good players and also a good manager.”
Asked on how a cup game differs to a league game
“A cup game is completely different to a league game, they’re one off games and they’re settled on the day. If the sides aren’t prepared and not up for the particular game then that’s that!”
Who Taffs Well would want in the next round should they prevail
“We have some quality players who have and could play at a higher level, so of course we want to test ourselves against the best. Our players love a trip so if we were lucky enough to get through, any side up north would be nice.”

“They have a top management team and a real good squad, they are always organised and disciplined.”
On what it would mean for Llanelli to win the cup like they did in 2010
“It would be huge for the club, but to actually win the cup is a massive task, step by step we are trying to get the club back to where it belongs. A Cup run can always raise the profile of a club and we will give 100% to ensure we can go as far as we can.”
On the kind of line-up we will see from Llanelli on Friday
“We will be playing our strongest team every time. Personally I feel momentum is a massive part of a successfull side and by playing a weakened team you could disrupt that momentum, so I’m not a believer in playing a weaker squad.”
