CONNOLLY AND METCALF SIGN FOR CITIZENS

Bangor City have completed the signings of defender Paul Connolly and Jack Metcalf.

The Citizens have announced the signings of Airbus UK defender Paul Connolly and Charlotte Independence midfielder Jack Metcalf.

Connolly had started the season with bottom side Airbus UK, making 12 appearances for his former side before making a temporary move to Bangor back in November, making 4 appearances in the process. Connolly had only just made the move having moved from Stockport County in the summer.

Connolly missed the fixture against his former side and won’t play against them again due to Bangor City’s top six place and Airbus UK’s position in the table.

Connolly has had a vast experience at English League sides, featuring for Plymouth Argyle, Derby County, Leeds, Millwall, Crawley and Luton Town.

Utility man Metcalf who can play as a full-back or in midfield will provide cover for Bangor City. He had begun his career with English giants Liverpool before moving to Wolverhampton Wanderers. In 2010 he moved to the United States to study with Clemson University where he featured for the college side.

Metcalf returned to England for trials with a few clubs before signing terms with USL side Charlotte Independence in February 2015. He featured 21 times for Charlotte.

Both players await international clearance before they can feature for the Citizens.
