JOHN OWEN DEPARTS LLANDUDNO

Llandudno forward John Owen has departed the club this evening, with Aberyswyth Town likely his next destination.

With Llandudno looking to recruit six players in the WPL transfer window, it seems one is destined to be a replacement for the young forward who could seemingly not settle at the club after his summer move from Rhyl.

John Owen featured in the 1-0 victory over Bangor City on New Years Day, receiving a booking late on in the match.

He had scored three goals this season, scoring against Holyhead Hotspur in the League Cup as well as league goals against the Cefn Druids and Cardiff Metropolitan.

Speaking on his departure, Alun Morgan paid tribute to the departing striker.

“It’s a shame that John couldn’t settle and I hope he stays long enough at his next club to do so. He’s a top lad and we wish him all the best in the future.”
