Dynamo Aber manager Luke Ganderton will be hoping that his side can close the cap on AFC Whitchurch as he eyes a top three finish in the South Wales Alliance.
Last time out, Ganderton missed his side’s 1-1 home draw with Tonyrefail but said that his side will have to perform differently to their last match.
“It’s hard for me to talk about the last game as I wasn’t there when it was played but from what was reported back to me, the pitch hampered the way we play our football and we just couldn’t get started. In previous games, we have looked very fit and controlled, just like the way we want to play them.”
The Aber manager has stressed the importance of this fixture and says that if the side are to be in with a realistic chance of promotion, they must win this.
“The game Saturday against Whitchurch is the biggest game of the season for us so far. I believe it’s a must win game if we are to keep up our promotion push.”
Dynamo Aber have only been in the division for a season and are currently in the mix for a second promotion, Ganderton believes in his squad and the quality it possesses.
“We only got promoted last season but our expectations are high and I know my squads quality and hard work will push the promotion places until the end of the season.”
The Caerphilly based side are currently enjoying a winning streak at the moment, where they’re unbeaten in six matches but Ganderton says feet will be left firmly on the ground.
“We are unbeaten in six in the league and we just need to take one game at a time not get too carried away. It’s also important not to take any of our opposing teams for granted and keep putting pressure on the sides around us and see where that takes us.”
The Oranges manager has put praise on the attacking threat that his side have, being the league’s second highest goal scorers as well as the league’s third best defence.
“Our front 3 forwards this year have been outstanding in front of goal again this season. The future is bright and we have many high quality players in this role. We are very lucky to have the goal machine Gareth Tedstone who has netted 30 times this season so far showing that he is a game winner.
I’m very pleased with our defensive and attacking record again this season. The team believes in our system and have worked very hard to get it right, we work for each other and understand what each other’s jobs are on the pitch. I think we have a perfect combination to push forward and get a top 3 finish.”
Dynamo Aber have just one player missing for the important clash as defender Keiron Perry misses out due to a one match suspension. .
