Nantporth chosen as Welsh Cup final venue

 

Bangor City’s Nantporth has been announced as the venue for the Welsh Cup final for the 2016/2017 season. 

The Football Association announced on Friday evening that the Bangor University Stadium, home of Welsh Premier League side Bangor City will host the JD Welsh Cup final on the Sunday, 30 April.

S4C will provide live television coverage of the showpiece.

It is the second time that the venue will host a JD Welsh Cup final, after hosting The New Saints’ 2-0 Cup win over Cefn Druids back in 2012.

The New Saints, gap Connahs Quay, Bala Town and Caernarfon Town are the four teams in with a chance of playing for one of the oldest cup competitions in football, with an all Premier League affair between The New Saints and gap Connahs Quay one of the semi-finals.

The date of the semi-finals is on the 1st of April, with both semi-finals played after the other, with Bala v Caernarfon being televised.
