John Oyenuga joins Connah’s Quay Nomads

Connah’s Quay Nomads have confirmed the full time signing of John Oyenuga, a versatile right back from Southern League Premier Division side Farnborough FC.

The 22 year old, who has also previously played for Walton & Hersham, and Aylesbury United, joins the Nomads as the club’s seventh full time professional player.

He joins Declan Poole, Michael & Matthias Bakare, Joe Heath, Rhys Williams and Jake Phillips in the club’s full time roster as they embark on a transition into operating as a full time professional club.

Oyenuga first played for the Nomads as a trialist, impressing with a strong performance and assist for Connah’s Quay’s third goal in a 3-0 win over neighbours Flint Town United.

Speaking to the club’s official website, manager Andy Morrison said:

“John is another young lad with real potential – great energy and electric pace who has done great during his trial and deserves his contract until January.

“As with all of the recent signings, John will have to be patient and make sure he is fit when his chance arises and be ready to make my life difficult when I’m picking my starting eleven for the next game.”

Oyenuga will wear shirt number 25 and must await international clearance before making his official Nomads debut.

The signing comes as the Nomads prepare for their inaugural Irn Bru Cup tie away to Scottish Championship side Dumbarton FC on Saturday 2 September.
