Four-time Welsh Football League Cup winner Lee Bridgeman moves up to Director of Football role at Taffs Well

Taffs Well manger Lee Bridgeman has announced that he is to stand down as manager of the Division One club with immediate effect after seven years in charge as he moves into a Director of Football role.

It comes after a narrow 2-1 defeat at Bridge Meadow Park to former Welsh Premier League side Haverfordwest County on Saturday for the Wellmen, bringing an end to one of the most successful periods in the clubs history.

In the seven years that Bridgeman has been in charge of the club, Taffs Well had a strong-hold on the Welsh Football League Cup, winning it a total of four times under his watch. As well as winning the League Cup, Taffs Well also claimed two South Wales Senior Cups. The Wellmen also had two second placed finishes under Bridgeman, despite being in a division with a number of former top flight teams.

But now Bridgeman will move up into the role of Director of Football as the club seek a replacement to lead the club forward, as they work under the guidance-ship of Bridgeman and the Taffs Well committee.

The decision was announced on Saturday evening as the Well boss took to social media, where he was met with a number of warm messages wishing him well and thanking him for his years of service at the club.
