Ynysygerwn: Miller, Vaughan and Powell join Neath side

Ynysygerwn AFC have made a treble signing this week as they prepare for life in Welsh League Division Three after their promotion winning campaign last season.

The side have completed the signings of Richard Powell, Gareth Vaughan and Andrew Miller as they bolster their squad in preparation for the new season.

Powell, a goalkeeper, has joined the club from Neath League Division Two side Harp Rovers and is set to be backup to current number one goalkeeper Geraint Bowden. Bowden is currently out after having a back operation, so there could be the opportunity for Powell to stale his claim for the number one shirt at the start of the season.

Vaughan is another addition who comes from the local leagues, having signed from Swansea League side CRC Rangers. Having played for Llansawel (now Briton Ferry Llansawel) in the Welsh League, he will bring experience to a side who will be plying their trade in the Welsh League for the very first time.

Finally, Miller arrives from Ystradgynlais. A long time target of the club’s management setup, they have finally got their man and with his leadership experience having captained Ystrad last year, he will be a good asset to the Ynys setup.
