Aberyswyth Town Season Preview
The 2015/2016 season for Aberyswyth Town was one that saw them finish mid-table. With total of 46 points overall, it was a solid season for the Black and Greens, however one that they feel could have been a little more impressive considering they had the League’s golden boot winner in Chris Venables.
With a relatively stable season, Aber will be looking to build on that season of consolidation with another mid-table finish amidst wholesale changes happening at the club, including a 3G pitch being laid at Park Avenue and a new manager being announced in the form of Matthew Bishop.
Manager
Matthew Bishop arrived in May after he was assistant manager at FC Hereford. Welsh born Bishop played for Aberyswyth from 1992 to 1994, he also made Welsh Pemier League appearances for Bangor City, Conwy United and Rhayder Town. Making a total of 61 appearances in the top flight of the Welsh Premier League.
The former Newport County coach was part of the backroom staff that saw the club gain promotion to the fifth tier of English football in 2009/2010 with a record points total.
He has also worekd with the Wales U16, U17 and England U20 sides, showing his expeience at international level. All this accumalated to him gaining the Pro Licence Certificate.
Bish has chosen Wayne Jones as his assistant manager, who also has Welsh Premier League experience having been in charge of the Haverfordwest County side who suffered the ignominy of relegation last season.

Prediction: 6th
I predict Aberyswyth will achieve a mid table finish this coming season and with many changes from Aberyswyth this summer, a season of consolidation could be considered a success. With their home games not coming until November, they may miss their home advantage with a large backing from a student following. With many transfers both in and out it will be hard for new manager Bishop to find how to accomodate the players, although he seems to have found a good common ground as the Aber remain unbeaten so far in pre-season. Time will tell how successfully he can be with his revamped squad in the top flight this season.
