Fabio Bassangue: Utility man joins Airbus UK

Airbus UK have brought in versatile Guinean born Fabio Bassangue after spending the summer on trial at the club. The 23-year-old who classes his nationality as Portugese can play as a centre back or as a central midfielder. He stated his career at Odivelas before joining Portimonese SC.

The player is not the only footballer in his family as his cousin is also a footballer.

The summe trialist moved to France, where he would featue for local side Montpellier Arceaux to keep himself in shape before a move to the United Kingdom came about to develop himself as a footballer.

Airbus UK director of football Andy Preece spoke to the official Airbus website and had this to say on the signing.

“Fabio has been with us in pre season and been excellent in all the games,”

“He is an all round player that gives us flexibility. A few clubs at a higher level were interested in signing him but we are fortunate he decided to sign for us.

“Alongside our other midfielders we are going to be very strong as he complements them really well.

“It’s a really positive signing.”
