Wigan Athletic and Wales U19 international goalkeeper Owen Evans has joined Rhyl FC on a six-month loan deal.
Owen Evans played at English based side Hereford before moving to Wigan Athletic in 2014. Evans featured heavily for Wigan Athletic’s developmental sie which saw him play against players of similar age and quality.
The nineteen year old has also played on loan for Evo-Stik North side Witton Albion, with four Welsh U19 international caps to his name.
Rhyl FC manager Niall McGuiness commented on the capture of the young goalkeeper.
“I am delighted to have agreed a deal with Owen and to be able to give him the experience of senior football that he needs to develop. He’s a good honest lad with the right attitude and a big career ahead of him and I would like to help him progress in the future. I know he will be a big hit at the Corbett Sports Stadium.”
