Bangor City v Bala Town Preview
This weekend sees yet another big clash for Bangor City, this time they face Bala Town, as Andy Legg’s men look to prove their metal.
The fixture is an important for one City who will be looking to move on from their 2-0 loss against gap Connah’s Quay. Bala Town, like the Nomads, will not be an easy game.
With the league getting split half way through the season, it’s important Bangor have a good start if they’re to get top six and a Europa League Play-Off spot. The Citizens will be facing a tough challenge against Bala tomorrow, a victory will be worth far more than three points. It would not only be points on the board, it’d also have a positive psychological affect on the team. A win against a strong Bala side will give the team a confidence boost. As a rather new squad with a new manager and new tactics, a win against the Lakesider’s would definitely have a positive boost on moral.
Last season saw Bala Town push TNS, the league champions, all the way, although to no avail come the final whistle of the season. This season, however, we see a stronger side. One key signing being Chris Venables. The lethal midfielder, who notched up 20 WPL goals last season, is certainly a player Bangor will have to stop. Having scored five goals against Bangor last season, this game looks set to be an exciting fixture.
Like Bangor, Bala Town will also view this game as an important clash. Bala , who will be looking to push TNS further this season, therefore can’t afford to drop points.
Bangor, a side who have also bolstered their squad this season, will not be an easy opponent for Bala either. With newly signed 19 year old centre back Jacques Kpohomouh looking solid in previous games and during preseason, he could make it difficult for Bala’s attacking force. Also strikers Jamie Reed and Daniel Nardiello also pose a threat to the Lakesiders’ defence.
The game takes place at Bangor University Stadium, the game will be live on S4C’s Sgorio. The game kicks off at 5:15pm!
