Former QPR man joins Airbus on loan
Former QPR academy defender Tom Matthews has joined Airbus on a season long-loan from Welsh Premier League champions TNS.
The defender was part of Norwich’s academy before making the switch to QPR in 2014. Having come through the ranks at Loftus Road and captaining the under-21’s in London, he was released in 2016.
Matthews was snapped up by The New Saints this summer on a free transfer, but having failed to make an appearance yet, it seems he is not in their plans for this season, but rather one for the future. As a result, he has linked up with Airbus on loan for the season.
He was new manager, Andrew Thomas’ second signing of the day after he snapped up Jamie Menagh from Altrincham.
