Lamb returns to the Rhyl herd

Carl Lamb has made a swift return to the Welsh Premier League by signing for North Walian side Rhyl as he attemps to bounce back from his summer release from Aberyswyth Town. He will go straight into the squad for Sundays fixture against Welsh Premier League champions The New Saints and then against the side that released him this summer.

This is not the first time Lamb has been at the Lilywhites, as he was at the club last year as a surprise signing from English Football League side Chesterfield. With WPL experience with Bangor City, Cefn Druids, The New Saints and Aber, Lamb will be hoping to build on his tally in the top flight of Welsh football.

“I want to put what has gone on in the summer behind me and start focusing on Rhyl, I want to enjoy my football again.”

Lamb was complimentary on the current squad at Rhyl, with the emphasis being on the amount of youth players there.

“It’s a young squad mixed with players I’ve played with before, Niall McGuiness is a young ambitious manager and I like what he’s doing, the players have taken to me straight away and that’s always a help, with my playing experience I can help the players around me.”

To finish off,  Lamb set a top six finish as the highest position the club could achieve as long as he is a player for Rhyl.

“I would love a top six finish, I believe this is quality there and it is a possible, anyone can beat anyone in the Welsh Premier League.”
