WFL ROUND-UP: Matchday 3

Division 1

We saw convincing home wins for promoted pair Cwmbran Celtic and Undy Athletic over Taffs Well and Penybont respectively. Chris Ham scored twice for Celtic whilst Josh Bull scored his third goal in as many games for the club upon his return from Aberyswyth Town. That win puts them top of the table with three wins out of three.

Risca United started this weekends league action off with a convincing win over recently relegated Premier League side Port Talbot Town, running out 4-0 victors.

Haverfordwest County, the other relegated Premier League side got their first win of the season as they scored late on through Rhys Dalling in the 85th minute against Ton Pentre.

Caldicot are yet to pick up a point so far this season and a close fought encounter with Cambrian & Clydach, in which they were 3-0 down at one point, but showed that they had fight in them to only lose by a narrow margin.

Lee Trundle scored a hatrick on his debut for Llanelli Town today against Aberdare Town in the Second Division. Trundle missed the League Cup fixture on Wednesday to attend the birth of his daughter. This win puts Llanelli top of the division, winning three games on the bounce.

Not much to read in the table so far though in Division 2 as West End are yet to get their league season off to a start yet whilst AFC Porth, Dinas Powys, Aberbargoed Buds and Newport City have only played once. Newport City were in Welsh Cup action, where they lost three-one against RTB Ebbw Vale.

Relegated side Briton Ferry Llansawel maintained their unbeaten start to the campaign as they look to bounce back with a draw at home to promoted side Pontypridd Town. Welsh Futsal international Danny Hooper got Ponty off the mark but Ferry levelled from the spot.
