Ladies game as strong as ever in Welsh League
The women’s Welsh League is as strong as ever, as is proven by the inclusion of two Barry Town Ladies players and two former Ammanford girls players in the FAW Women’s Under-17’s squad to play in the European Championship qualifier in Latvia later this month.
Grace Horrell and Cailtin Bevan of Barry Town Ladies have been included in the squad to travel to Latvia, in a squad which features players from teams of the stature of Liverpool, Everton and Aston Villa.
The squad also includes two Cardiff City ladies players Nia Rees and Ffion Morgan, both former Ammanford AFC girls players, who recently had a ladies side in the Welsh League system.
Rees recently made her bow for the Cardiff City ladies first team, and has impressed at age group level for her country.
Best of luck to the girls, as they make the Welsh League proud in proving the quality exists in our own national league system.
