Liam McCreesh has taken the role of manager at Afan Lido after Mark Robinson stood down from the role following a poor start to the season.
This is McCreesh’s first job in management at senior level, but he has the backing of his predecessor. “Seeing the impact Liam was having at the club since returning as assistant manager in the close, now seemed the right time for him to take the reins” he said when speaking to the official Afan Lido website.
McCreesh has experience in Wales, playing for the club he manages now, before moves to Haverfordwest, Port Talbot and Carmarthen. He has also featured for Northern Tigers FC, a semi-professional based side in Australia.
With vast experience in the Welsh Premier League and playing time in Europa League Qualifiers, the relatively young manager will be able to pass off his experience to Lido’s younger players.
Mark Robinson will continue to work with Lido, in the role of General Manager.
