Conwy Borough host Caernarfon Town in the JD Welsh Cup at Y Morfa Stadium tonight, with a 7:30 PM kick off time.
The Tangerines go into this game with a disappointing start to the season and will be looking for a good cup run to build on after the disappointing start. Ryder will be looking for a encouraging start to his Conwy career and the players will be out to impress him.
Caernarfon will be looking to put the disappointing result against Caersws behind them and they look to win and enjoy a run in the cup.
Caernarfon Town manager Iwan Williams said: We’re looking forward to visiting Conwy in the Welsh Cup. We’ve prepared well in the week and will be looking to shoot out of the blocks early on. It’s a competition in which we want to do well in and one that I personally used to look forward to playing in each year.
Iwan Williams knows that a win would see them go into the draw on Monday with a chance of playing a top flight side. “It’s a chance for teams to progress and test themselves against the heavyweights of the Welsh Premier League and that’s what we’re aiming to do.”
They’ve appointed a new manager in the week so the players will be eager to impress. However we’re only focusing on ourselves and our own individual and collective performances. We have a couple missing through suspension and ineligibility but it’s a chance for those coming in to impress and cements their place in the side.
