WPL Preview: gap Connah’s Quay v Carmarthen Town

gap Connah’s Quay Nomads are looking to go 10 games unbeaten on Sunday afternoon, when they host Carmarthen Town at Deeside Stadium.

The fixture sees both sides meet from the opposite ends of the table, with Connah’s Quay firmly in 2nd with five wins and four draws and Carmarthen above the relegation zone in 10th, winning two, drawing three and losing four.

The away side will however hope to come away from Deeside with a result, having already claimed points from Connah’s Quay this season. In August, they frustrated Nomads with a 0-0 draw in what was a fantastic defensive display typical of Carmarthen’s physical style.

Yet this feat won’t be easily repeated on Sunday, with Nomads chasing a historic tenth game unbeaten and enjoying their fourth consecutive Dafabet Welsh Premier League home fixture.

Manager Andy Morrison has been handed a boost ahead of Sunday’s game, with defenders George Horan and Lewis Short set to make full returns from injury.

Carmarthen take a squad near full fitness, who will look to build on a respectable performance at The New Saints last week, when the champions were held to a narrow 2-1 victory.

The game kicks off at  3:00pm at the Deeside Stadium as part of a league card that also pits Bangor City against Cardiff Met and Bala Town against Newtown AFC.
