Buckley Town vs Holywell Town

There is no bigger game in the Huws Gray Alliance this weekend than the Flintshire derby , with Buckley hosting Holywell on Saturday afternoon.

With both teams returning to league action after cup competition last week, Buckley sit in ninth place whilst Holywell are sixth.

The home side go into the game with a win in the Welsh Cup last weekend and will be looking to extend a recent run of form to make it three wins from their last three games.

John Haseldin’s men will meanwhile want to get back to winning ways after losing in Huws Gray Cup last week.

This week,  Haseldin has strengthened Holywell’s midfield by bringing Matty Hurdman to the club who is in contention to be given his debut.

Buckley’s Ben Chamberlain spoke to Clwb Pel Droed about the huge derby ahead:

“Saturday is a very exciting fixture especially for me with my past connections with Holywell. Furthermore the lads are raring to go after having a couple of weeks rest from the league.

The standard of training has been very good this week and we hope this can be taken into the game against Holywell.

It won’t be an easy game by any stretch imagination and I’ve got a lot of respect for Johnny and the Holywell lads,as I was there last season. The squad are aware of the challenge we face and the start that Holywell have had this season, however we know what we are capable of if we put our minds to it and we go into the fixture with confidence.

It should be a good one to watch with hopefully another large crowd supporting our team!”
