Ruane returns in Nomads recall

gap Connah’s Quay Nomads striker Ashley Ruane has been recalled from his loan spell at Cefn Druids, it was announced today.

The recall comes earlier than expected, with Ruane originally sent on loan to The Rock from August 2016 to January 2017.

The early-recall comes as Nomads deal with an injury crisis of significant scale, with George Horan, Mike Pearson, Ian Kearney and Callum Morris injured along with numerous other players carrying game-affecting knocks.

The Deeside-based club will hope Ruane brings his recent good form back with him, having scored seven goals for the Ancients in all competitions, putting him ninth in the league’s golden boot table.

The move comes at a time when goals are in short supply for Nomads, who have managed  just two in their past three games.

Ruane is expected to be part of the Connah’s Quay squad when they travel to Aberystwyth Town on Saturday.
