Andrew Smith departs The Kingfishers

Monmouth Town manager Andrew Smith has departed the Division One side to join up with Risca United’s departing manager Paul Michael as a coach at Cinderford Town.

Smith who has been in charge since June 2014 took Monmouth to a twelfth placed finish last season, whilst carrying onto this season, the club sits second from bottom.

Smith was there from 2004-2008 where he won three promotions through the Gwent County Leagues, all the way to the Welsh League.

He still continued to play despite stepping down as manager, where he won division titles in 2011 and 2012.

It brings to an end the twelve years of service Andrew ‘Smudger’ Smith has given to the club.
