Maurice-Jones appointed new Denbigh Town manager.

Denbigh Town last night announced that the Gresford Athletic Manager Eddie Maurice-Jones would replace Gareth Thomas after his resignation last week.

Jones had previously been involved with the club as a player and also as an assistant manager before taking up a job opportunity in Qatar. During his time as a player, he scored 12 goals in 15 games for Denbigh before an injury to his knee cut his season short.

Speaking to the official Denbigh Town Football Club website, Chairman Shon Powell gave Eddie a warm welcome, praising the former Red.

“We are very pleased that Eddie has agreed to commit to Denbigh Town and has moved over from Gresford Athletic FC where he has done so well. Eddie is clearly hungry for success. His confident enthusiasm has already impressed everyone he has met at the club and we think he is perfect for the role.

The 27 year old commented on being given the opportunity to manage the side he was at just a few years ago.

“I am delighted to be appointed as manager of Denbigh. It is a fantastic opportunity and a huge privilege to be joining a club with such potential.

I now must concentrate on the opportunity I have been given and to the new challenges ahead. I am looking forward to being part of this great club and to sharing in future success.”

He will take charge of his first match away at Penrhyncoch this coming Saturday.
