Ross Kennedy named Monmouth’s new manager

Monmouth Town have appointed Ross Kennedy as their new manager, it was announced today.

A former player and coach at the same club, Kennedy has stepped in after Andrew Smith left the Kingfishers for a role at Cinderford Town of the Southern Premier Divison.

Kennedy brings with him a wealth of knowledge about Monmouth, having spent many years at the club prior to his appointment.

He will be looking to turn recent fortunes around, with Monmouth only managing two victories from 11 games in the Welsh Football League Division One – leaving them at the wrong end of the table in 15th.

Kennedy will manage his first game on Saturday 19 November in what looks to be a baptism of fire, as Monmouth travel away to high-flying league leaders Goytre.
