Ian Dawes has emerged as the most likely candidate to replace Andy Legg at Bangor City, after the former Llanelli manager was relieved of his duties with the club today.
Bangor currently sit fourth in the table, with eight wins from 15 games, and despite Legg only joining the club as first team manager earlier in the summer, he has now left the club. The Citizens and Legg had previously made their intention to go professional in the near future clear, however Legg has departed after he was not chosen as the man to become their full-time manager.
Shrewsbury Town youth academy coach Ian Dawes has been identified as the likely candidate to take over from Legg at this moment in time. Dawes has been the Head of Youth coaching at the English outfit since July 2014, having previously been head coach at Maltese side Florian FC; who were owned by Steven Vaughn Senior, who now has a role with the club.
Dawes holds the UEFA ‘A’ License and has previously been involved with Liverpool’s academy, a club with whom he started his playing career. He previously played for Caernarfon Town in the Welsh Premier League, and thus may be able to use links with his former club upon his arrival.
Andy Preece was previously linked with the managerial post before Andy Legg was handed the reins this summer, but Dawes is thought to be the main contender for the position this time round and could well be announced as the new manager sooner rather than later.
