Llantwit Major disappointed after Cup postponement

Llantwit Major manager Karl Lewis expressed his disappointment after Welsh Premier League side Cefn Druids postponed their Welsh Cup fixture, a week before the match.

The postponement is down to three Cefn Druids players being called up to the Home Nations Futsal Championship next week, which coincides with Welsh Cup week.

Cefn Druids played midfielder Stuart Cook as a goalkeeper due to a shortage of first team keepers at the club in their 2-2 draw with Carmarthen in the Welsh Premier League, two weeks back.

“I think it’s a compliment to us that a WPL team who have previously been in Europe, feel they can’t play a mid-table third division team without their international players.” Llantwit Major’s Karl Lewis

It has left Llantwit Major manager and their players frustrated as travel and accommodation had been sorted for the fixture this week, leaving them out of pocket.

The fixture will now take place a week later on the 10th December.
