Yeovil Town midfielder Nicola Cousins has joined Welsh Women’s Premier League side Cyncoed Ladies on a winter loan.
A former Welsh Cup winner with Cardiff City Ladies as well as being a full Welsh international, made her debut today in Cyncoed’s 4-0 victory over Aberystwyth today.
Nicola had been waiting for her international clearance to go through, as she trained with the side since November.
Manager Fern Burrage expressed her delight in bringing in the midfielder.
“We’re delighted to have signed Nicola during the WSL off-season, she’s a great addition to our squad and we value her experience in the top flight of the women’s game.
Bringing a player in to the Welsh Premier League of this calibre can only benefit all of us in the league!
She’s been training hard with us for some time now and it was great to reward her with 90 minutes of football.”
Nicola herself said she was impressed with the setup at the club and was delighted to be at Cyncoed.
“It’s been good to keep ticking over and getting touches on the ball. Cyncoed have a great set up here and a hard working team so there was no doubts with me wanting to get involved. Everyone here has been very welcoming.”
