Rhyl sign former striker Lewis

Rhyl have announced the signing of Holywell Town striker Stevie Lewis.

The 28 year-old was brought to the Welsh Leagues by Bala Town in 2011, when they signed the forward from Merseyside outfit Essemay FC.

He departed for Marine before joining Rhyl for the first time. He was a prominent figure in the side that helped guide the side to their Huws Gray Alliance title in 2012/13.

Lewis remained with Rhyl for their return to the Welsh Premier League, and netted five times in 15 appearances for the Lilywhites, but was released by the club at the end of the campaign.

He featured for Caernarfon in ye Huws Gray Alliance in 2014/15, but his most recent stint in the Welsh Premier League was with Bangor, who he left this summer.

But, despite a short spell with Holywell Town is set for a return to the club who he enjoyed his best spell in the Welsh Premier with.

Niall McGuiness has a young squad at his disposal at Rhyl, and despite some positive results, the side have been inconsistent this term so far.

The only real experience up front comes in the form or Carl Lamb and so the rumoured signing of Lewis will be music to the Rhyl fans’ ears as they fight for a mid table finish this season.
