AFC Porth striker Nathan Doe has this evening joined Division Three side Panteg AFC.
The former Newport County youth academy product was a regular scorer at Porth, scoring eight goals in the 12 games he has featured in for Porth this season. With the form of Ben Ahmun, scoring 13 goals in 13 appearances, Porth may not need to recruit another striker after the departure of Doe.
It is a move that comes as a shock due to Porth’s standing in Division 2, being only three points behind Llanelli with two games in hand with Doe’s goals helping contribute to the being the joint second highest scorers in the division on 35 goals.
The 20 year-old striker was the Welsh League top scorer for the club last season, scoring 16 goals.
AFC Porth gave a parting message to the departing striker.
“We wish Nathan all the best in his move to Panteg.”
Panteg expressed their delight in the signing of Doe.
“We are delighted to announce the signing of Nathan Doe from AFC Porth. Doe is a regular scorer in Division 2 and is a fantastic signing for the club.”
