Welsh Premier League side Bangor City have signed former Torino defender Sergio Uyi.
The Citizens completed the signing of the Nigerian born defender after being granted international clearance. He will now be in contention to make his debut against bottom side Airbus UK on Saturday at Broughton.
Uyi began his career when he played for the youth team of Italian side USD Vanchiglia, before moving to Canavese and then at the age of 18, signed for Serie A giants Torino.
Standing at 6 foot 3, he adds a physical presence to Bangor City’s defence and is the second defender to join after Paul Connolly’s arrival earlier this month.
Uyi describes himself as a tall defender who can ply a very good long pass, excellent at heading and can shoot well.
Sergio has spent most of his footballing career in Europe, featuring for two Lithuanian side, Dainava and Kruoja before moving to Finnish side Atlantis FC, before a February move of this year to SSV Reutlingen.
After trials with Vanarama National league side Dagenham & Redbridge in the summer, Uyi has explored the possibility of playing in the Welsh Premier League.
