Rhyl FC have announced the loan signing of young Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Daniel Lavercombe.
The 20 year old signed for the Championship club from Torquay United in January 2016, returning to Torquay on loan where he made 18 appearances during the 2015/16 season.
This season he has made the Latics’ bench seven times, working with international goalkeepers Jussi Jaaskelainen and Adam Bogdan.
He will now represent Rhyl for the remainder of the Dafabet Welsh Premier League season, making his debut against Llandudno FC on Saturday subject to international clearance.
Speaking to the club’s official website, manager Niall McGuinness said:
“I am delighted to secure this deal. Having seen Dan over the last couple of friendlies I think he is a great addition for us at Rhyl FC. He has all the great attributes of a Goalkeeper and the level he is at speaks for itself. It is great to link up with a club like Wigan Athletic and I would like to thank them for their continued support.”
