CUNNINGHAM: EVERY PLAYER HAS PLAYED THEIR PART

With the second half of the season already under way, Mold Alex managerial duo Mike Cunningham and Neil Wynne are only looking for the positives their squad has shown since they took over.

Mold struggled coming out of the blocks, but since the managerial change, things are looking a little rosier at the North Walian club, with the side in 10th place with 20 points from 18 games.

However, the club know that a win on Saturday would not only boost morale after a tough run of results, but would boost them up to ninth place if results go their way.

“It’s very  important we get back to winning ways, Saturday is a big game for both clubs so it’s important we pick up three points and keep ahead of the teams below us.

Earlier on in the season, Mold were beaten 7-1 by Penrhyncoch, but since then a lot has changed at the club, no less thn the managerial team. However, Cunningham suggests the current management team are not dwelling on the past and believe they can gain a positive result over their opponents this weekend to demonstrate the progress the club has made.

“To be honest the results before me and Neil came don’t really bother us, we had a target when we took over that’s all we do is look ahead, obviously the committee members and players involved on that day will looking to show how far we have come since the opening day.”

Cunningham’s team have been on the road for the last three games, but the game against Penrhyncoch sees them return to Park Alun. According to Cunningham the club are looking forward to their return.

“Yes we looked at the fixtures for the run up to Christmas and they could have been kinder! The whole squad is looking forward to being back at home and getting into are normal match routine!

Things have been tough at Mold, but Cunningham and Wynne still hold belief in their side. One game sticks out particularly for Cunningham; the win against Buckley where they came from 2-0 down in 15 minutes to snatch all three points.

“Two results stand out the most, one is obviously the win against Buckley; a great result and performance, it was our first game after we have been well beaten by Prestayn, and within 15 minutes we were 2 down and had the feeling of not again! But the lads were brilliant after that really rolled their sleeves up and dug and the turned the game around before halftime.”

The Alex will be looking towards form player Lee Jones to help them get the win on Saturday, and Cunningham recognises his form at the moment, but insists all the players have shown desire since their arrival at the club.

“Lee Jones has been brilliant since we came in and is as important as anyone in the squad. Lee knows he can improve and he is working hard to do so. From the first moment we took over, every player has played their part and has done everything we have asked of them.”

One thing is certain; they will be hoping they all continue to turn up if they are to grab all three points on Saturday and begin their march up the table.
