Quick makes dash to Caerau Ely

PROLIFIC goalscorer Chris Quick has departed long term club Canton Liberal for Welsh League side Caerau Ely.

Nana Baah has added an attacking reinforcement to his side in the form of Chris Quick who departs Canton Liberal after helping Liberal to four consecutive promotions.

Quick hit the headlines due to his high goal-scoring exploits which had him as one of the most prolific strikers on the British Isles, scoring a whopping 81 goals in 34 appearances last season as Liberal were promoted to the South Wales Alliance League Premier Division.

Chris will be linking up with brother Phillip who had also signed for Caerau Ely back in November of last year. He leaves Liberal with a goal total of 249 goals in just 104 appearances.

The 25 year-old striker has been likened to Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy who had began his career as a professional footballer late on and Quick, who had a trial at League One side Scunthorpe United, could still have an opportunity of playing at a higher level with the opportunity now at Caerau Ely.

Liberal currently sit 7th in the Premier Division following Quick’s departure.
