Caernarfon Town manager Iwan Williams has added experience to his current squad with the signings of Lee Fowler and Carl Owen.
With players unavailable for their televised JD Welsh Cup tie with Rhyl, Iwan Williams has sought for new signings as he looks to progress to the next round.
Fowler has had experience at a number of Football League and Non League sides in England with Coventry City, Huddersfield Town, Newport County, Wrexham and Forest Green Rovers just a few to name. Fowler last played for AFC Teleford United before featuring for Caernarfon as a trialist in their mid-season friendly win over Llandudno.
Carl Owen returns to Caernarfon after originally joining back in the summer of 2014. With Premier Leeague experience for Rhyl, Bangor, Airbus and Porthmadog, it adds even more firepower to Caernarfon.
Iwan Williams gave his thoughts on the double signing to YClwbPelDroed.
“Lee is a great signing for Caernarfon Town Football Club. His ability and knowledge of the game to go along with his experience will benefit us massively as we look to end the season strongly.
We have a number of players unavailable against Rhyl for various reasons so we had to look at bringing people in to help us stand any chance of progressing in the Cup.
Lee fits the bill if not more as he still has plenty to give. Carl who’s a good friend of mine and helped me out on occasions last season has also agreed to sign and be involved. He has countless WPL games under his belt which include stints at Bangor, Porthmadog, Airbus and Rhyl with a number of goals to his name.
With both Lee and Carl’s experience and our planned preparation leading up to the game I’m sure we have every chance of causing an upset.”
Both could make their debuts against Penrhyncoch on Saturday.
