Clowes departs Bangor to join Wingmakers

Bangor City’s central defender Leon Clowes has joined Airbus UK FC on a permanent deal, it was announced today.

Once Bangor’s captain, Clowes is joining Airbus for a second time having played an entire season for them in 2011/12 as a Wrexham AFC loanee.

He recorded 16 National League appearances for Wrexham in the 2013/14 season, scoring two goals, but fell out of favour due to injuries and joined Bangor in 2o13/14.

Clowes became a popular figure amongst Citizens fans, making 63 appearances and scoring two goals. His Bangor career ended in drab fashion last week, when his now-club Airbus beat Bangor 4-2 on the final day of Phase One.

His move will boost Airbus’ fight against relegation, whilst Bangor have confirmed they are seeking more additions to the squad with European qualification their target for phase two.
