Central midfielder Matty Cook has joined Denbigh Town from Dafabet Welsh Premier League outfit Cefn Druids.
An experienced Welsh Premier League player, he has previously captained both Newtown AFC and Cefn Druids.
Cook arrives at Central Park as Denbigh look to change their fortunes of the season so far, which sees them 10th with five wins from 20 games.
Manager Eddie-Maurice-Jones is set to utilise Cook’s experience to help his current squad, with the likes of Alan Bull, Tony Davies and Jonathan Hill Dunt the senior members of a relatively young team.
Maurice-Jones spoke to Clwb Pel Droed on securing Cook’s signature.
“Cookie is an experienced centre midfielder. He’s captained both his previous clubs Newtown and Cefn Druids. This supports one of his main attributes which is leadership.
“He is a great character to have around the team, very comfortable on the ball and will suit our style of play. These qualities and professionalism are examples of the calibre of player we are after at Denbigh Town and I look forward to working with him.”
