Surfing champion joins FC Porthcawl team
Ex surfing champion and businessman Brad Hockridge has joined FC Porthcawl’s management team and committee.
A local legend to the Porthcawl area, Hockridge had trials at Cardiff City FC before turning to surfing where he was Welsh and British champion.
But Hockridge’s resume stretches further, as he founded successful international businesses Double Overhead and AXL Distribution, becoming a leading business figure in the Porthcawl area.
Commenting on his reasons for joining the club, Hockridge said:
“I have been incredibly impressed by the amazing camaraderie among the players and managers and excited by their vision and passion and incredible will to win, it is something that I am keen to be part of and help in any way possible!”
Hockridge comes into the position of Associate Manager of FC Porthcawl, where he will oversee many aspects of the club as they continue to grow.
FC Porthcawl are currently top of the Port Talbot Premier League with 37 points, losing just one game from 14 so far.
