Chirk sign Salisbury ahead of cup clash
Welsh National League Premier Divison side Chirk AAA have secured the signing of defender Rob Salisbury.
Having previously played for Chirk, he re-joins the club from Huws Gray Alliance outfit Mold Alex.
In an official club statement, Chirk put on record their delight at re-capturing a defender already well thought of at the club.
“Chirk AAA are delighted to announce that former defender Rob Salisbury has returned to the club after a short spell at Cymru Alliance side Mold Alex.
Rob will be a big asset for both league and cup games and will be in the squad for Saturdays visit of Coedpoeth.”
Manager Mark Holmes also pointed towards the expect influence Salisbury will have on a huge FAW Trophy quarter final against Corwen.
“We are delighted to have Rob back at the club. He is an experienced defender who has played this level for many years. He has also played with many of our current squad which makes it even easier to integrate him into the squad. The fact that he is also available for our Welsh Trophy Quarter Final against Corwen on 11th Feb is a bonus.”
Chirk sit fourth in the Premier Division, enjoying a strong season so far with eight wins, three draws and four losses.
Their next game is against Coedpoeth at home for a 2pm kick off on Saturday 4 February.
