Chepstow recruit four as they eye return to Division Two
Nicky Morgan has moved quickly to try and ensure the good times continue at Chepstow Town as he recruited four players last week.
Ben Jones, Andrew Evans, Dan Stoneman and Andrew Delve all join to try and continue Chepstow’s unbeaten run of four games, a run which has seen them pick up 10 points out of a possible 12 and some even considering Chepstow as promotion contenders.
Jones, a central defender who earned a professional contract with Newport County has previous experience in the Welsh Leagues with Abergavenny Town, he is joined by another Newport County youth in right-back Andrew Evans. Winger Dan Stoneman joins as a free agent with experience in the Welsh League with Newport YMCA, Stoneman is serves in the Armed Forces.
Goalkeeper Andrew Delve joins after a career with many clubs in the South Wales area as well as the South of England, with spells at Newport County, Carmarthen Town, Merthyr Tydfil, Gloucester City, Caldicot Town and most recently Midland Premier League side Westfields FC.
Jones, Evans and Stoneman featured in Chepstow’s 1-1 draw with division strugglers Tredegar Town whilst Andrew Delve awaits to make his first appearance in a Chepstow shirt due to international clearance and Chepstow’s trip to Treowen being postponed last Saturday.
