Huws Gray Alliance Monthly Awards announced
The official Huws Gray Alliance player and manager of the month awards have gone to Prestatyn Town’s Neil Gibson and Holywell’s Steve Thomas.
Neil Gibson was almost a dead cert for the manager of the month award after success in both the league and Welsh Cup during January. His side beat Aberystwyth Town 5-1 at Park Avenue, setting up an intriguing JD Welsh Cup quarter final clash with gap Connah’s Quay at home on February 25.
In league affairs Prestatyn are edging closer to the title and promotion, unbeaten after 21 games and 16 points clear at the top of the table after a 4-2 win over Mold Alex on the weekend.
There is a carnival atmosphere at the Seaside thanks to Gibson’s work, with a bus being prepared for an away game at Penrhyncoch where they could secure the title as early as March 4.
Penrhyncoch away Saturday 4th March, is the game we can win the league.

In January Prestatyn won four league games and scored 28 goals and conceded 8. Prestatyn also beat Welsh Premier League side Aberystwyth Town in the Welsh Cup 5-1.
Scooping player of the month is Holywell’s Steve Thomas, who has been rewarded after the topping the table of man of the match selections during January.
Thomas’ consistent level of performance has stayed with Holywell during a recent poor run of form, helping them get back on track with a 4-0 ousting of Denbigh Town which they will look to build on for a strong finish to the season.
