Kingfishers dealt with double transfer blow
Welsh League Division One side Monmouth Town were dealt with a double transfer blow as they lost out on County loanee Dafydd Jones and forward Keyron Tolland.
Ebbw Vale based Dafydd Jones who was released by Football League side Newport County last month spent the first half of the season on loan at the Kingfishers, scoring 8 goals in the process. His performances caught the eye of Welsh Premier League side Aberyswyth Town who brought the 18 year-old in on deadline day.
With Jones departing the club, manager Ross Kennedy moved swiftly to try and replace Jones with another player who was involved with Newport County in Keyron Tolland who had spend time with division rivals Penybont this season, but their attempt were knocked back as Tolland had already featured for Newport County and Penybont this season, thus being ineligible to move club due to FIFA’s policy of only allowing players to play for only two clubs in a season.
One successful signing on Deadline Day though came in the form of central midfielder Joe Loftus. The former Hereford United youth captain was part of the Monmouth side that finished in 6th place back in 2014/2015 as well as a few appearances last season.
