Jason Oswell and Andy Morrison have won the Dafabet Welsh Premier League’s player and manager of the month awards for March.
Oswell wins player of the month after a golden run of form which has seen him score six goals during March and 18 this season in total – a stat that makes him front-runner for the golden boot. His goals have helped Newtown go from a relegation fight to contenders for the play-offs, as the Robins sit 7th with a four point lead over 8th placed Llandudno.
The Robins’ forward has already been named as a possible summer transfer target for teams in and outside of the Welsh system, which based on his form is no surprise.
Andy Morrison has meanwhile been named manager of the month for guiding his Nomads side out of a sticky situation at the start of Phase Two.
Their first two games were defeats at the hands of Carmarthen and Bangor, but since then Connah’s Quay have gone five WPL games unbeaten, winning three and drawing two, a run which included a shock 2-1 victory over The New Saints last week.
