Sebastopol withdraw from Gwent County League

Sebastopol FC who play in the Gwent County League Division Three have withdrawn from the league, prompting fears that the club has folded as a result of their failure to complete the season.

The Torfaen based side who played their games at Alexandra Road in Pontypool currently remain on the Gwent County League official website which could give them hope in fulfilling their fixtures but it is unlikely after statements from clubs scheduled to play Sebastopol.

They were scheduled to play in the Second Round of the Challenge Cup on Saturday against Clydach Wasps after beating Severn Tunnel 2-1 in the previous but forfeited.

Sebastopol have a total of 12 points this season, conceding the most goals in the league, as well as being deducted points.

It is a contrast to back in the 2013/2014 season when Sebastopol went up as Champions, beating Mathern to the title by just two points.
