The Radnor Valley Revolution

Radnor Valley have come from the Mid Wales South League to the Spar First Division in just two successful seasons.

However, in the 2014/2015 season Radnor Valley weren’t very well known in the Spar Leagues.

After a very successful season it saw them get win the title. Many may of thought it would be a struggle for them. Pen-y-bont for example got promoted a couple seasons before and are struggling to stay up.

Radnor knew that if they could make ‘The School Lane’ a fortress they would have a great chance at survival in tier four of Welsh Football.

Steve Piggot who managed the club for the previous six seasons managed to get his team to consistently perform over the course of the season, which saw them flying in Spar Two. They finished the season runners up to Berriew who are pushing for another promotion.

This year they have had a change of management, seeing Steve Piggot exit and Paul Morgan step in with his assistant Adam Jones.

They have a stand out man upfront in Joe Price who signed for them at the beginning of the 15/16 season and has consistently performed seeing him finish top goal scorer last season and currently is 3rd top goal scorer this season with 20 goals, 18 in the League and two in the cup.

This weekend they travel to a struggling Welshpool Town who are fighting for survival, which could make this game all the more entertaining.
