Rhyl FC have tonight announced a quarter of contract extensions with James Bell, Toby Jones, Alex Jones and James Jones all signing as Lilywhites for the 2017/18 season.
The news comes as a boost to the Dafabet Welsh Premier League club who are currently locked in a fierce relegation battle.
Midfielder James Bell has signed a contract having made 19 appearances for the club. A statement on the club’s official website said:
“Happy to have signed a new deal with the club as I feel at home here. I believe that I’m at one of the biggest clubs in Wales and I want to keep fighting to get the club back where it belongs.”
Toby Jones has confirmed his commitment to Rhyl after making 30 appearances and getting six goals on the way. He will be seen as a vital player in Rhyl’s upcoming six pointer against Airbus UK on Saturday 8 April.
Speaking to Rhyl FC Toby reiterated his future beyond this season and remained focused on keeping the club in the Welsh Premier.
I’m really looking forward to next season, but first and foremost we have to keep this club up and we’ve got three huge games in front of us. Myself and the players are all confident we can pull it out and get the results needed to keep Rhyl FC where they belong.
“It’s been a rollercoaster of a season and I’ve enjoyed playing in front of the Rhyl fans and thank them for their ongoing support”.
Brothers Alex and James Jones are Rhyl’s other two contract extensions having joined Rhyl at different stages of the season. Both brothers have seen significant game time and will be expected to play a big part in Rhyl’s relegation battle.
Rhyl must wait until April 8 for their next game, but the club hosts this weekend’s JD Welsh Cup semi final between Caernarfon Town and Bala Town on Saturday 1 April.
