Ruthin’s Williams and Holyhead’s McGuiness claim awards
Ruthin Town boss Chris Williams and Holyhead Hotspur’s in-form striker have picked up the Manager and Player of the Month awards for the month of March in the Huws Gray Alliance.
Chris Williams’s side won four games out of four in March, which has seen his side steer clear from the relegation zone, when earlier on in the season, Ruthin looked to be lost amongst the pile. Ruthin have scored 14 goals in 4 games, conceding just 3.
W 3-1 Buckley Town
W 3-0 Mold Alex
W 4-0 Llanfair United
W 3-2 Conwy Borough
The Ruthin boss paid credit to his players who have helped Williams earn the award.
“I know it’s an old cliché but this award is without doubt recognition for all my players’ efforts and hard work they have put in! They have been fantastic and I’m delighted that they are finally getting some recognition for their work! We’ve still got work to do but really am very proud of them all!”
After some eye-catching performances for Holyhead in the month of March, Mel McGuiness has won the Player of the Month award.
Mel scored 3 goals in March, scoring the only goal in a win against Llanfair, as well as scoring a brace against the Champions, Prestatyn Town. McGuiness has scored 17 goals this season and joint fourth top goalscorer.
