AFC Porth manager Gareth Morgan has announced that he is to leave the club along with his management staff.
The news was broken this evening as the former Llanwern manager took to social media to release a statement.Morgan gave respect to those who remained with the club over the years as well as praising the committee of Porth who appointed him back in 2015.
“Sadly my time and that of my management team at AFC Porth will come to an end with the end of this season.
I’m extremely proud of the job we have done in, at times, some very difficult circumstances.
Unfortunatly factors out of our control took our focus from trying to be prooted to trying to finish the season, which we achieved – Just!
We will always look back at this season with the one that got away.I’m so proud of the players who stuck with us and ensured the club completed its fixtures an retained Division Two status. Thank you all for your loyalty, I’m proud of you all.
Our thanks goes to the hard working committee at Porth who have had to guide the club through some pretty rocky seas over the past few years and we sincerely wish them every success in the future.
I hope to be back at Dinas Park one day in the future and look forward to doing so.”
Earlier on in the season, both Porth and Morgan picked up the ‘Club and Manager of the Month’ for October.
Porth were in with a shout of promotion earlier on in the season and only finished five points behind 3rd placed Pontypridd Town.
