The New Saints capture former Dragons defender

Welsh Premier League champions The New Saints have signed Blaine Hudson following his release from Chester.

The 25 year-old was part of the retained list at the Deva Stadium and The New Saints have moved quickly to snap up Hudson who has spent a majority of his career in the Vanarama National League.

Last summer, Hudson joined Chester from cross-border rivals Wrexham, after making 69 appearances for the Reds, scoring 7 goals in the process.

Over the course of last season, Hudson had made 30 appearances for the Blues. With the signing of the centre-back, it fills the gap of Mihai Leca who departed the club over the last fortnight.

Speaking to the official TNS YouTube channel, Hudson spoke on joining the club, saying that he sees himself at The New Saints for the long term.

“I followed TNS results for a fair bit, I have a few mutual friends of Craig’s and as soon as he said he was interested, I myself said I’d be interested in playing with him.

I’m excited for it, I want to get settled somewhere now, I want to make this club a mainstay.”
