Nomads announce host of Deeside departures
Connah’s Quay Nomads have announced a total of six departures from the club today in its first transfer action.
Defenders Wes Baynes, Lewis Short and John Disney have all left the club, having all played key roles in Europe and securing the club’s highest ever league position, finishing second this season.
Whilst Baynes’ next club is unconfirmed, Short and Disney have both joined Northern Premier League side Altrincham.
Baynes joined the Club in September 2015, making 71 competitive appearances and scoring the all important goal which took Nomads to Europe with a 1-0 victory over Airbus in the 2015/16 Play Off Final.
Disney and Short both joined the Club in 2016 with Disney making 43 competitive starts, scoring on three occasions, while Short made 29 competitive starts, finding the net twice.
In addition, Shelton Payne, Tom Field and Nick Rushton have left the club.
Payne and Field’s spells at Deeside were affected by injury, whilst Rushton played the second half of the season on loan at Newtown AFC.
