Denbigh Town capture division rivals Lilywhites duo
Rhyl’s division rivals Denbigh Town have signed both Josh Davies and Kristian Pierce following their departure from Belle Vue.
Both players featured for Niall McGuiness men in the Welsh Premier League last season, with Pierce opting to leave the club whilst being named on the retained list, whilst Davies was on Rhyl’s standby list.
Davies has instead opted to link up with Denbigh manager Eddie Maurice-Jones where Denbigh have regarded him as the second ‘high-profile summer signing’ after the club had confirmed the signing of Kristian Pierce.
Pierce returns to Denbigh after leaving Central Park last season, where he scored 18 goals in 26 appearances for the club.
Rhyl front-man Davies on the other hand had spells at Ruthin and Porthmadog before joining the Lilywhites, where he scored a total of 39 goals in 64 appearances.
Speaking to the official Denbigh Town website, Maurice-Jones announced his delight in signing the pair.
“I’ve known Kristian since my playing days at Denbigh Town and believe he’s one of the best talents at this level. His passion for the club is remarkable so I’m pleased to secure such a player. It shows our strong intentions for the season ahead.
“It’s brilliant to have finalised Josh Davies as our second signing. Josh has had a lot of interest over the last few weeks so I’m really pleased he’s committed himself to Denbigh. It’s a big statement from the Club to be attracting players of his calibre and we look forward to seeing him back on Central Park.”
